GESiDR2 Database Releaseupdate 2014-08-18 - The GESiDR2 was updated using revised WG15 and W13 files, see the Known Issues page. This release contains iDR2 recommended parameters and abundances as of June 2014. The release usually contains metadata for the spectra and the spectra themselves. Spectra observed as part of the GES Survey are included. GIRAFFE spectra obtained from the ESO archive are also included, but UVES spectra from this archive are not. Initially the archive can be queried using the freeform SQL form. Additional access points will be provided in subsequent releases. Please note that all use of parameters obtained from the archive in publications and analyses leading to publications must conform with the PI Policy Statement on the use of iDR2 parameters, abundances and radial velocities. iDR2 contains astrophysical parameters for around 32,000 stars, derived by working groups WG10 - WG14 and homogenised by WG15. Abundances determined by the analysis WGs 10-14 are available, but have not been homogenised by WG15 for iDR2. The WG reports on this page provide more information about the derivation of WG results. In particular, refer to the WG15 report for details of the homogenisation of the iDR2 recommended quantities and the policy on which WG abundances may be used in publications. The main content in the release is held in the following tables.
Metadata from the observations are held in the SpecFrame, Spectrum and Target tables. Details of the table content, columns etc are given in the schema browser. Known issues with the current release are available on the Known Issues page. Working Group ReportsConsortium working groups 10 - 15 have prepared reports on the analyses that they performed for iDR2. These reports are available for download as PDF documents:
