GESiDR4GiraffeSpectra Database ReleaseFor details of known issues and problems with GESiDR4GiraffeSpectra see the Known Issues page. GESiDR4GiraffeSpectra is a preliminary release of the metadata tables for the iDR4 Giraffe spectra. This release is being made available now in order to facilitate the timely exploitation of these data. The spectra themselves are not included in the release, in line with Consortium policy. GESiDR4GiraffeSpectra is a release internal to the GES Consortium and only available to GES Co-Investigators. If you are a GES Co-Investigator then in order to access the archive you must obtain a login profile from your local GES Community Contact, if you have not already done so. Every institution in the Consortium has a Community Contact. See the list of community contacts to identify your local contact. If no community contact is listed for your institution please contact either Clare Worley (ccworley@ast.cam.ac.uk) or Anna Hourihane (aph@ast.cam.ac.uk). If you encounter login or other technical problems then please report them by e-mail to ges-support@roe.ac.uk. GESiDR4GiraffeSpectra comprises only the metadata tables for the iDR4 Giraffe spectra. It does not contain any astrophysical parameters and abundances, nor any UVES spectra. It also does not contain any nightly spectra though these will subsequently be added. Conversely, for convenience the release does contain the iDR4 atomic and molecular line lists. (These data were previously accessible in database GESiDR4LineList, where they continue to be available.) The structure of GESiDR4GiraffeSpectra, in terms of the tables present and their constituent columns, is the same as the GESiDR2iDR3 release. The unused tables, for example those to contain astrophysical parameters, are present but empty. The sizes of the main tables are as follows:
For examples of querying GESiDR4GiraffeSpectra you should refer to the appropriate sections of the GESiDR2iDR3 documentation. If you encounter any problems please e-mail ges-support@roe.ac.uk.
