Release History of the GES Science Archive
- November 13th 2017 - GESiDR5 database - iDR5 release
This release contains iDR5 recommended parameters, abundances and
spectra as of November 2017. See the
GESiDR5 release page
for more details.
- November 21st 2016 - UPDATE to gesiDR5LineList database
Three rows in LineAtomNoHfs had incorrect radDamp values.
The rows are CaI 6318.1085, 6343.3081, 6361.7457 where the wavelengths refer
to the numbers in the lambda column. radDamp for these lines was corrected to 12.08 from 8.1400003.
Also radDampRef has been updated to "K07 AUT".
- October 10th 2016 - gesiDR5LineList - iDR5 line list
A release consisting solely of the atomic (v6) and molecular (v5) line list
table and associated views for iDR5.
- May 4th 2016 - UPDATE to GESiDR4 database
Approximately 200 C2 (dicarbon) molecular band abundances have
been added the WG15 recommended results. The column affected is CC2 in
tables RecommendedAstroAnalysis and AstroAnalysis. These results had
not previously been passed along from the Vilnius Node analysis of the UVES
spectra but are now included.
- February 28th 2016 - GESiDR4 database - iDR4 release
This release contains iDR4 recommended parameters, abundances and
spectra as of February 2016. See the
GESiDR4 release page
for more details.
- August 14th 2015 - GESiDR4Spectra database - release of the metadata tables for
the iDR4 Giraffe and UVES stacked spectra
See the GESiDR4Spectra release
page for more details.
- July 3rd 2015 - UPDATE to GESiDR2iDR3 database
The iDR2iDR3 WG11 Recommended and Node Files have been updated.
A subsample of the iDR3 abundances were incorrectly assigned in the
previous version. At the time of writing (3 July) this change affects
no publications but please check any current work that is under way.
The changes affect 145 of the 764 iDR3 entries of which only 92 have
recommended atmospheric parameters. Specifically these are:
- Single exposure spectra of 9 benchmarks obtained with the U520 set up
(and the corresponding co-added spectra): 18 Sco, HD 148897, Bet Ara, mu
Ara, HD 173819, Gam Sge, HD 190056, GJ 880, HD 220009.
- The U580 spectra of IC 4665 (27 stars, 21 with parameters), the U520
spectra of NGC 6633 (10 spectra, 7 with parameters), and the U580
spectra of the CoRoT fields included in iDR3 (14 spectra, 13 with
parameters).
- The U580 spectra of two RV standards (HIP 82295 and HIP 93373).
Please be assured:
- This revision does not affect the iDR2 recommended parameters or
abundances.
- This revision does not affect the iDR3 recommended parameters,
only the abundances were shifted.
- May 27th 2015 - UPDATE to GESiDR2iDR3 database
The values listed in column fileName of table SpectrumNightly were incorrect;
the name of the corresponding final stacked spectrum was listed instead of the
name of the nightly spectrum. The incorrect file names have been removed
(the nightly spectra are not yet available).
- April 7th 2015 - GESiDR4GiraffeSpectra database - preliminary release of the
metadata tables for the iDR4 Giraffe spectra
See the GESiDR4GiraffeSpectra release
page for more details.
- February 14th 2015 - GESiDR2iDR3 database - combined iDR2 and iDR3 release
See the GESiDR2iDR3 release page
for more details.
- January 14th 2015 - GESiDR2iDR3 Preliminary database - combined iDR2 and iDR3 preliminary release
See the GESiDR2iDR3 Preliminary release page
for more details.
- October 8th 2014 - gesiDR4LineList - iDR4 line list
A release consisting solely of the atomic and molecular line list
for iDR4.
- August 18th 2014 - GESiDR2 database - iDR2 revised release
The previous iDR2 has been updated to include revised WG15 data. See the
GESiDR2 release page
for more details.
- July 14th 2014 - GESiDR2 database - iDR2 release
This release contains iDR2 recommended parameters, abundances and
spectra as of July 2014. See the
GESiDR2 release page
for more details.
- December 1st 2013 - UPDATE to GESiDR1 database
The WG10 recommended parameters have been added to tables AstroAnalysis
and RecommendedAstroAnalysis. The WG10 report describing these parameters
is available here.
In addition the following changes have been made:
- Incorrectly assigned GIRAFFE parameters (in particular, [Fe/H] and Fe1)
originating from file reformatting errors have been corrected.
- Li from the WG10 GIRAFFE HR15N analysis have been included.
- Column cname has been added to table AstroAnalysis and view
RecommendedAstroAnalysis.
- Columns SNR, VEL, VmagApass, BmagApass have been removed from table
AstroAnalysis and view RecommendedAstroAnalysis to avoid
duplication of columns in other tables.
- August 29th 2013 - UPDATE to GESiDR1 database
A problem was found with the supplied WG11 node files, these entries
have been deleted from the AstroAnalysis table, the recommended entries are OK
and have been left in. The AstroAnalysis table will be re-populated when new
input files are provided.
- August 23rd 2013 - UPDATE to GESiDR1 database
Updates and version corrections to the WG12 parameters. Three new columns
based on the WG12 analysis are now added: limEwLi (If upper Limit on Eq
width Li(6708)); ewHbChr (Eq width Hbeta chromosphere); ewHbChrErr (Error
in ewHbChr).
Additional WG11 recommended mass and age values as determined by the Lumba
node. Reference for how the results were derived:
"We determined masses and ages for a subset of the GES MW field data
following the methodology described in Serenelli, Bergemann, Ruchti &
Casagrande (2013, MNRAS, 429, 3645)."
- August 7th 2013 - GESiDR1 database - DR1 release
This release contains iDR1 recommended parameters and abundances as
of July 2013. The release also contains iDR2 metadata
and targets but not the spectra themseleves. See the
GESiDR1 release page
for more details.
- May 24th 2013: GESiDR1Prelim database - preliminary DR1 release
This initial release contains preliminary iDR1 recommended parameters and
abundances as of March 2013. The release also contains iDR_YearOne metadata
and targets but not the spectra themseleves. See the
GESiDR1Prelim release page
for more details.
- March 29th 2013: GESv201303beta database - initial beta data release
This release contains some initial derived astrophysical parameters from
some of the working groups for around 10,000 stars. The spectra themselves have
not yet been made available as their reduction is still being refined. See the
GESv2013beta release page
for more details.
